Let’s see what else I did during this time…oh yes, I made recipe cards. I’m making a desperate attempt the next 6-7 months to improve my cooking and baking skills in time for our move to London. I feel I’m running out of time because I’ll be busy with the newborn, the preschooler and toddler at home, and there’s too much to learn and the learning curve is steep, especially when it comes to learning from my very efficient mother. My mother-in-law’s healthy recipes are also quite unbeatable haha. I have 2 good role models to learn from, but I need to practice. So I have been practicing…and you’ll have to ask David if the food is palatable haha.
Recipe cards are useful for the usual stuff I intend to prepare on a regular basis, instead of scribbling them on paper or in the iphone. You can get nice free designs like this one from here. It’s a pdf file and you just type the recipe in. Easy peasy! If you like your own handwriting, try this owl one I found that was pretty! My sis-in-law Joann gave me a laminator for my birthday (oh I love practical presents!) and I laminate the cards so they don’t get stained by wet or oily hands in the kitchen.
Homemaking is lots of fun, you see!
